You can measure your ring size at home using one of two methods: (1) measure the inner diameter of an existing ring that fits, and match it to the Indian size chart, or (2) wrap a thin paper strip around your finger, mark where the ends meet, and measure the circumference in mm.

What is Indian ring size?

Indian ring size is a numbered standard (1 to 30) used by every leading Indian jeweller, based on the inner circumference of the ring in mm. Athira uses Indian sizing as the primary measurement across all rings.

How is Indian ring size different from US or UK size?

Indian sizes are numbered 1-30 in 0.4mm circumference increments. They are not directly comparable to US (0-13 with halves) or UK (A-Z) sizes. Use the inner diameter or circumference in mm as the reliable cross-reference.

What if my measurement falls between two sizes?

If your measurement is exactly between two sizes, choose the lower (smaller) size — Athira rings have a comfort fit and a slightly snug size is preferable to a loose one.

Find a ring that already fits the intended finger comfortably.
Lay it flat and measure the inner diameter in millimeters.

Method 2 · No ring needed

Wrap a strip of paper

Take a measuring tape, string, or thin strip of paper.
Wrap it snugly (but not tight) around the finger you'll wear the ring on.
Using a pen, mark where the ends meet.
Lay the strip flat and measure that length — this is your circumference in mm.

For the most accurate fit

Measure in the late afternoon or evening — your fingers are at their largest then.
Avoid measuring on a cold day — fingers shrink slightly in low temperatures.
If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one.
If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, pick a size that comfortably slides over the knuckle.
The dominant hand's finger is usually slightly larger than the same finger on the other hand.
